Auf die Tüten, fertig, Bügeleisen los – gebügelte Plastiktüten sind der Stoff, aus dem Produkte entstehen!
Von Plastikmüll hören und lesen wir heute beinahe täglich. Es gibt zu viel davon in der Natur, ganz besonders im Meer, und richtet dort großen Schaden an.
Ein großer Anteil des hergestellten Plastik steht in direktem Zusammenhang mit unserem Konsum: Produkte die wir kaufen sind in Plastik verpackt, wir transportieren unser Einkäufe darin, wir zahlen dafür und trotzdem werfen wir den wertvollen Rohstoff am Ende einfach wieder weg. Es sind Unternehmen, die das Plastik aufbereiten oder recyceln, so dass neue Rohstoffe entstehen oder die das Plastik verbrennen und daraus Energie erzeugen.
Unterstützt durch das PlasticTwist Projekt findet jeweils am Samstag, 29.12.2018 und am Samstag, 12.01.2019 von 14.00 Uhr bis 17.00 Uhr in der People’s Factory, Bundesstrasse 21 in Luzern, unser Workshop «Wert-Stoff Plastik» statt, bei dem Ihr interessante Hintergründe über den Rohstoff Plastik kennenlernen und Euren eigenen Münzbeutel oder Euer eigenes Verpackungstuch für ein Pausenbrot aus recycelten Plastiktüten herstellen könnt.
Nach dieser tollen Erfahrung seid Ihr herzlich eingeladen, die People’s Factory bei Kaffee, Kakao und einem Stück Kuchen näher kennen zu lernen.

Ablauf des Workshops
1) Einführung in den „Wert-Stoff Plastik“ – ihr bekommt interessante Hintergrundinformationen rund um den Rohstoff Plastik
2) Auf die Tüten, fertig, Bügeleisen los – gebügelte Plastiktüten sind der Stoff, aus dem unsere beiden Produkte entstehen
3) Ein neues Produkt entsteht – beim Zuschneiden hilft ein Lasercutter, beim Zusammennähen unsere Hände oder eine Nähmaschine
4) Unseren Erfolg feiern – wir gönnen uns einen schönen Abschluss bei Kaffee/Kakao und frisch gebackenen Muffins
Bitte beachten
- Bringt ausreichend bunte Plastiktüten mit. Wenn Ihr keine findet, fragt einfach Freunde, Familie oder Nachbarn
- Wenn du den Münzbeutel herstellen möchtest, brauchst Du nichts weiter mitzubringen und eine weiteren Vorkenntnisse
- Wenn du das Verpackungstuch herstellen möchtest, bring bitte ein ausrangiertes buntes Hemd oder Geschirrtuch mit. Beides sollte aus Baumwolle und gewaschen sein. Erste Erfahrungen mit der Nähmaschine sind Voraussetzung.
- Kinder bis 12 Jahren können leider nur in Begleitung einer erwachsenen Person teilnehmen. Dieses Duo fertigt ein Produkt und zählt somit als eine teilnehmende Person. Möchte die erwachsene Begleitung ein eigenes Produkt fertigen, zählen beide als einzelne Teilnehmer.
Das interdisziplinäre und international aufgestellte Forschungsteam von PlasticTwist will mit verschiedenen Massnahmen das Bewusstsein in der Gesellschaft steigern, damit Plastik (wieder) als wertvolle Ressource wahrgenommen wird. Sie hinterfragen etablierte Recycling-Praktiken, forschen an nachhaltigen Innovationen und fördern zirkuläre Wirtschaftspraktiken.

On the bags, ready, iron away – Ironed plastic bags are the material of which new products are made!
We all hear and read about plastic waste almost every day. There is too much of it in our environment, especially in the oceans, and it causes a great deal of damage.
A large proportion of the plastics we produce is directly linked to our consumption: Products we buy are packaged in plastics, we transport our purchases in it, we pay for it, and yet in the end we simply throw the valuable raw material away. It has become a business to process or recycle the plastics into new raw materials or to burn the plastics and generate energy out of it.
On Saturday, 29.12.2018 and on Saturday, 12.01.2019 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m we run our «Recyclable Plastics» Workshop in the People’s Factory, Bundesstrasse 21 in Lucerne, supported by the Plastic Twist* project.
You will learn interesting facts and backgrounds about plastics and will produce your own Coin Pouch or your own Sandwich Wrapper from recycled plastic bags. After this unique experience you are invited to discover the People’s Factory over coffee, hot chocolate and a piece of homemade pastry.
The workshop is free of charge, the number of participants is limited to 6 people. Please register in time, by email at info@peoplesfactory.com or on our website www.peoplesfactory.com.
Activities during the workshop
- Introduction to plastic as a valuable material – you will learn about interesting facts and background information about plastics.
- On the bags, ready, iron away – ironed plastic bags are the material of which our two products are made.
- A new product is created – a laser cutter helps cutting, our hands or a sewing machine help sewing the pieces together.
- Celebrate our success – We treat ourselves with coffee/cocoa and freshly baked muffins.
Please note
- Bring a sufficient number of coloured plastic bags. If you don’t find any, just ask your friends, family or neighbours
- If you’d like to produce the coin bag, you don’t need to bring anything else. No previous experience required.
- If you want to produce the sandwich wrapper, please bring a used coloured shirt or tea towel. Both should be made of cotton and washed. Initial experience with the sewing machine is a prerequisite.
- Unfortunately, children up to the age of 12 can only participate when accompanied by an adult. The duo produces one product and counts as one participant. If both would like to produce their own product, both are counted as individual participants.
PlasticTwist-Project is an interdisciplinary and international Horizon 2020 EU research project PlastisTwist is working to re-valuate plastics as a resource. PlasticTwist contextualizes established recycling habits and explores possibilities for sustainable innovation and circular business practices.
